Monchique – natural mineral water from Portugal

Monchique rises from the depths of the Serra de Monchique in southern Portugal: a still, natural mineral water without carbonation. It is drawn from a depth of around 900 m and emerges at the spring at about 32 °C.

It is characterised by a naturally exceptionally high pH value of 9.5 and an oxidation-reduction potential (O.R.P.) of about −245 mV, measured at the spring. Total mineralisation is around 359 mg/l.

The pH of our water is checked regularly by independent laboratories and certified to standard M.M. 2.2.1. Test strips are too imprecise for this: they only give a rough reading and are not admissible for certification.
