Monte Novo e Figueirinha
The Figueirinha estate
5 minutes from Beja is the Herdade da Figueirinha estate in the heart of the Alentejo in southern Portugal. With 300 hectares of vineyards and olive groves, it has excellent quality soils, as well as an excellent climate with lots of sunshine, ideal for growing wine and olive oil. At the center of the agricultural area are the buildings that house the Adega and the oil mill.
The winery was founded in 1998 by Leonel Cameirinha and is currently managed by his grandson Filipe Cameirinha. Both wine and olive oil with the typical characteristics of the Alentejo are grown on the family-run estate. An almond plantation has also recently been added. The entire cultivation takes place sustainably, in harmony with nature and pesticides are largely avoided. The entire management ensures that the animal world is treated with consideration. There are no night harvests. The production facilities are equipped with modern technologies to ensure products of the highest quality and hygiene.

The estate has won the hearts and will of a grandfather and grandson. Two men, one passion: the cultivation of wine and oil on this estate.
Every year, numerous visitors can see for themselves the natural processing and special quality of our Figueirinha olive oil on a tour of the Figueirinha olive grove and the in-house oil mill. During the final tasting, we talk about the positive benefits and numerous uses of good olive oil. José Goncalves, who has accompanied the harvest and production for years, provides information and is happy to give helpful tips and answer questions about olive oil.
